Would anyone in their right mind buy something called yaktrax? Is this a relative of the  moose species? Or maybe it has something to do with cars and traction? I happen to love this item, but wonder if anyone besides me knows what it is. Here is the real story…if you like to take walks, or jogs, or runs, in the winter, and stare out the window at all that snow and ice, your worries are over. Yaktraxs are chains for the bottom of your shoes or boots. Just like chains on car tires, these cute little traction devices clip right on to the soles of your shoes and now you can go outside without fear. They come in sizes but there is lots of “give” so one pair should work on your shoes or boots.

I agree, it’s a silly name – but what a great product!
