Getting the garage cleaned up before the snow and nasty weather is always a chore. Either it is too cold and windy to work outside, or it is so nice- who wants to stay in the garage? Picket Fence has an array of items that will make it more fun to get everything off the floor in record time. My favorite is the Bin Warehouse. It has so many compartments that I can literally throw things in bins, label, and stuff them on these racks. Fast, off the floor- and best of all- my garage now has room for essentials- like my car!

I am amazed at the number of products that are new to the market and are solar powered. Although few houses have taken the solar route, marketing has created wonderful home solutions using solar. For example, the newest innovation, solar holiday string lights. I am so tempted to light up my backyard, my hot tub area, etc, but who wants to set up cords, worry about the plug getting wet, etc. These lights just work. I have some solar pumpkins too, but alas, that holiday is gone. Try these for Christmas.

My daughter is very environmentally responsible. In addition, she hates bugs, mosquitoes, etc. I found this incredible product, Bugs R Done, that is exclusive to Picket Fence. Spray it indoors, spray it outdoors, it is 100% organic and only disturbs bugs. Go organic!

Truthfully, I don’t think too much about my wiper blades until it is pouring out and I can’t see. Picket Fence Catalog to the rescue! They have an item, Wiper Blade Conditioner, that I have not been able to find anywhere else- even on the web. It not only cleans the blades, but snow and ice will not stick to the blades after treatment. Like getting an oil change, I really need to do this maintenance on a regular basis.

Raking leaves in the fall to some may seem like a chore and if you are not careful could cause serious harm to your shoulder, back or even your wrists.  Use a rake that feels comfortable and consider your height and strength.  Also switch your arm and leg motions often.   What I do to really avoid back injury is I use the Bos-Sheet. If you live in areas where it isn’t necessary to bag your leaves this is a real time saving and back saver.  Check it out…your “back” will thank you!

My deck was looking good as far as plants, flowers and furniture this summer. However, it did seem like it was missing something. I wanted to put up one of those decorative painted slate tiles to complete the look. But, I had no idea how to hang it up. I have vinyl siding so I could not use nails. What to do? Then I discovered Vinyl Siding Hooks. These hooks slide in place. You can use them to hang up address plaques, seasonal decor and signs. They hold up to 10 lbs and are removable without leaving a mark. They are one of the best sellers at Picket Fence. I now see why.

Glistening lights are so nice on bushes and on your house around the holidays. The problem I run into is that I do not have electric outlets on the front of my house. Fortunately, there is a solution. There are now Solar LED string lights. These lights get their power from the sun. I’ve written about solar before but I just have to mention these amazing lights. No worrying about bulbs burning out or remembering to plug them in. I guess earlier models weren’t as bright, but these are much improved. Even places that get low sunlight in the winter don’t have to worry - these lights recharge with even minimal sun exposure. I think you will really like these lights. I have a feeling they are going to be big sellers this year. They certainly get 2 thumbs up from me!
